Much of the work we do currently revolves around our weekly dinners for people. Eventually, we would like to expand our services, but for now, this is our most direct way to help people and build community.
1. Canned Goods - Bring your canned goods and packaged foods to First United Methodist Church located at 5957 Golden West Avenue, Temple City, CA 91780. Please do not bring expired canned goods. Although some people do not mind eating expired canned goods, we wish to provide food which is not out of date.
2. Fresh fruits and produce - There is nothing more healthy than fresh fruit and vegetables. Send us a message on our contact page if you are concerned about them being refrigerated immediately.
3. Your time - Come by and help us cook. Preparing food together is a great way to meet your neighbors and learn about common experiences and joys.
4. Your money - If you can't deliver any food for us to prepare for dinner, then you can still help. Our volunteers pay money from their own pockets to buy fresh food for these dinners. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Your money is directly translated into food..
5. Your property - And of course, if you have a house or car that you want to get rid of, let us know and we will convert that into something usable for the people we serve. If you want to add us into your Trust, simply provide our name and address to your estate planner and request an amendment to your existing trust or will. Our name and address is enough to make sure it gets to us.
6. Take Home Boxes - Right now, during this interesting time in history with COVID-19, we are still serving our community. We are preparing hot take away meals in take away boxes every Sunday, so if you happened to have meal boxes we will use them. Also, if you would like to help pay for catering for a meal that would also be helpful during this difficult time.
